Many of our office projects are part of city centre regeneration schemes and our planning, transport and sustainability expertise ensures these developments respond appropriately to their environment.

WSP has the largest team of dedicated development and transportation professionals in the United Kingdom, providing core skills in transport planning and infrastructure design to support projects in the commercial sector. This expertise is focused on achieving planning consent and buildable solutions. This is best illustrated by our long term investment in supporting the planning application for 610k sqm Omega commercial and mixed development in Warrington which is Europe’s largest.

The skills of our dedicated environmental and energy businesses contribute to our multi-discipline teams that delivers innovative carbon saving approaches and engineered solutions for challenging and complex sites.

Specialist skills

We deliver a range of specialist skills including due diligence services relating to property transaction, outsourcing and fund management activities for UK clients across the globe.

A key speciality is in high rise buildings and subsequently a significant number of our commercial projects are represented by high rise developments in response to increasing urbanisation within cities across the world. Some noteworthy projects include BP1 in Canary Wharf and the Beetham Tower in Blackfriars. We are also very pleased to be involved in the 83 storey ”Shard of Glass”. WSP’s expertise in structural design is pivotal to the creation of this 310 m tall tower which is destined to be the tallest building in Europe and an iconic addition to the London skyline.

Additionally, we are able to offer our specialist skills in the development of headquarters buildings; skills which have been employed by clients such as, GSK, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Scotland, Norwich Union and the Ministry of Defence, Whitehall.
